Session 3: Transporting hydrogen- Global and European infrastructure

CEO, Hydrogenious

Dr. Daniel Teichmann (39) is founder and CEO of Hydrogenious LOHC Technologies. The engineer conceptually developed the industrial application of Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier (LOHC)-based hydrogen storage as part of his doctorate at Friedrich Alexander University. After his first professional stop at BMW AG Research and Technology, he decided to join the start-up together with professors Peter Wasserscheid, Wolfgang Arlt and Eberhard Schlücker in 2013 – the successful path from research to commercialization began. Today, the portfolio of Hydrogenious LOHC Technologies and its joint venture companies Hydrogenious LOHC Emirates and Hydrogenious LOHC Maritime includes stationary and mobile (on-board) LOHC-based applications. Especially with its storage and release systems, the Erlangen-based company is a leading player worldwide for flexible, safe and cost-efficient hydrogen infrastructure solutions and has been honored with awards such as the “Innovation Award of the German Economy” and was ranked several times in the “Global Cleantech 100”. With its >160 employees and investors AP Ventures, Royal Vopak, Winkelmann Group, Mitsubishi Corporation, Covestro, JERA Americas, Temasek, Hyundai Motor Company, Chevron Technology Ventures and Pavilion Capital, midstream player Hydrogenious is a major enabler and accelerator for the energy transition.
