Jose Noldin is the CEO of GravitHy, an imminent market leader in green iron and steel.

Backed by EIT InnoEnergy, Engie New Ventures, FORVIA, GROUPE IDEC, Plug, and Primetals Technologies, GravitHy plans to build, own and operate its first low CO2 iron plant in France, with a global investment of 2,2 billion € and creation of around 3,000 new jobs.
Dr. Noldin has more than 25 years’ experience in leading complex business ventures in the mining and steel industry with high innovation and decarbonisation challenges. After starting his career at Tecnored, a company developing a revolutionary new ironmaking technology owned by iron ore giant Vale, he then spent a decade in Belgium in leadership positions at Lhoist, a major player in the lime, dolomite and minerals industry and more recently he was the Head of Technology Strategy of a large industrial conglomerate in Latin America, Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional, where he was in charge of technology and decarbonation strategy and execution across the different business segments.
Dr. Noldin is a mechanical engineer and holds a M.Sc. and PhD in metallurgical engineering from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), Brazil. He is an active member of different professional societies like ABM and AIST. He holds several industry awards, including the Thomas Medal (offered by the Iron and Steel Society of the UK, 2017), Ironmaker of the year (offered by ABM, 2014) and a Presidential Citation from AIST (2015). He has an extensive list of publications with many best paper awards for his contributions in the fields of iron ore, ironmaking and sustainability, with greater focus in CO2 abatement, new technologies, energy efficiency and raw material related challenges.
